Sri Aurobindo’s Gayatri Mantra

तत्सवितुर्वरं रूपं ज्योतिः परस्य धीमहि । यन्नः सत्येन दीपयेत् ।।

Sri Aurobindo’s Gayatri Mantra is intended for the supramentalization of the entire being: “Let us meditate on the most auspicious (best) form of Savitri, on the Light of the Supreme which shall illumine us with the Truth.” (Sri Aurobindo)

Om Anandamayi Chaitanyamayi Satyamayi Parame

ॐ आनन्दमयि चैतन्यमयि सत्यमयि परमे ।।

Sri Aurobindo wrote this mantra around 1927 as one of several miscellaneous notations connected with the Records of Yoga. The text was first published as a message in November 1955. Translation by The Mother: Om – She, the Delight, She, the Consciousness, She, the Truth, She, the Supreme.
