Siddha tradition an important part of U.T.’s spiritual legacy

A 2-day international conference on ‘Siddhas: Mystic Cults, Symbolism and Spiritual Significances’, was hosted by the Sri Aurobindo Society in association with the Departments of Tourism and Art and Culture on 29 and 30th November 2023. Shri Rangasamy, Chief Minister of Puducherry and Tourism Minister K. Lakshminarayanan inaugurated the conference. The other notable guests were Sivagnana Balaya, of the Mailam Bommapura Atheenam, Sivagnana Balaya, of the Mailam Bommapura Atheenam, Jayanta Kumar Ray, secretary, government of Puducherry; K. Tharanikkarasu,vice-chancellor (i/c), Pondicherry University; and V. Kaliaperumal, director, department of art & culture. Shri Pradeep Narang , Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society highlighted the views of Sri Aurobindo and Siddha tradition. Shri Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati and Smt Charu Tripathy Associate Director, AuroBharati facilitated the conference.

Vedic Chanting

Confluence of the Vedas, i.e. Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda have been preserved through unique mnemonic techniques, distinctive and ancient features, and rituals and have been handed down orally as a living tradition. Listen to the chantings of the sacred mantras of the Rigveda and Yajurveda by the Nambudiri tradition of Kerala and the Yajurveda tradition of Puducherry.
