On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry organized ‘Mahashakti: Celebrating the Legacy of Shakti Cult in the Light of Sri Aurobindo & the Mother on 12th October, 2024 at Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry.

Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, who spoke at the event, said that the Shakti cult, which is founded on the worship of Shakti, the divine feminine energy, is an important component of Indian culture. This cult’s central tenet is that all creation originates from Shakti, who is the personification of strength, power, and creativity. Sri Aurobindo, a famous Indian poet, yogi, and philosopher, made important contributions to our understanding of Indian spirituality.

According to Aurobindo, Shakti played a significant role in this process by tying spiritual growth and the blossoming of divine feminine energy together. He believed that embracing this energy could lead to a greater comprehension of the world’s harmony and wholeness.  He continued by saying that the Shakti cult and Aurobindo’s thesis together show a long-standing tradition in Indian culture that honors the feminine as a vital, empowering component

On this occasion, Bhabani Vandana by vocalist Sripali, Kamalini, Luminaura, Bhabani, accompanied by Bishnu Charan Panda & Debasish Dass; dance on Sri Aurobindo” and Namami tvam Aravindam” by Madhumita Patnaik, Panchali Nath, Gayatri Nath, Kamalipa Shah, Nandita Biswas were organized.
