दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलू ।

देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा ॥

Translation: olding in her lotus like hands, a rosary (Akshamala)

and an aesthetic water pot (kamandalam)

O devi, Shower your bliss on me, Goddess Brahmacharini,

the uncomparable or the highest one (I bow to you)

Maa Brahmacharini, the goddess of perseverance and penance, is honored on the second day of Navratri. She symbolizes the form of Goddess Parvati, who underwent intense penance to win the hand of Lord Shiva as her spouse. Listen to the beautiful chanting dedicated to goddess Brahmacharini.
