Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society had a meeting with the Management of Vedasharama Gurukulam, Puducherry regarding the promotion of Vedic study at Puducherry. Vedashrama Gurukulam is one of the oldest Gurukul in Puducherry and approximately seventy-five students are studying Yajurveda and the Agamas. Project ‘Gurukul’ is an initiative of AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society to rediscover the rich traditional and cultural heritage of the Vedas, which is the best-known tradition of the past and presents the unique features of the ancient Indian learning system. The main focus of the project Gurukul is the all-around development of the students based on Guru-Sishya Paramapara (Teacher-Taught Tradition). It was discussed that emphasis will be given on teaching, research and publication-related activities for the promotion of Vedic studies.
